Different Methods For Transfer Energy From One Source
Introduction: Conduction, Convection and Radiation are three different methods to transfer energy from one source, such as an object, to another. The method of conduction takes place when atoms or molecules move at a higher speed after heat is absorbed at the surface. In doing this, the particles bump into each other, transferring their energy. This allows heat energy to be passed through the object until the heat source is removed. Convection is the flow of molecules or atoms through a fluid state such as liquid or gas. When heat is added, the molecules that are closest to the source get hotter and are pushed to the top forcing the cooler molecules to the bottom to then repeat the process. Radiation is the transfer of energy through waves, which can be transferred through solids, liquids and gases. This process does not have a need for particles for energy to pass through. Insulators are used to stop or reduce the transfer of heat energy via conduction, convection or radiation. Insulators to prev ent conduction contain many air pockets. Solid materials are often used to reduce convection and reflective insulators are used in the reflection of radiation. Infrared radiation is a form of electromagnetic radiation that has a greater wavelength than visible light. Although infrared canââ¬â¢t be seen to the human eye it can be felt as heat energy. All objects eject and absorb infrared radiation, but at different rates. An object with a higher temperature ejects more heat than anShow MoreRelatedThe Effect Of Heat Transfer On The Sun Essay1640 Words à |à 7 Pagesthey are the methods by which heat is transferred. Scientists have stated that heat transfer is the exchange of thermal energy between physical systems. The rate at which heat is transferred occurs is dependent upon the temperature of the system and properties of the medium where the heat is transferred. Heat transfer, whether it is any of the three previously stated, are extremely important because it is vital to existence on Earth. The thermal energy that comes millions of miles from the Sun isRead MoreTaking a Look at Heat Transplantation1530 Words à |à 6 Pagestransf erred from a place to place, and understand the real context of those terms in everyday life. Everyone has felt heat, but what is it? The simple answer is that heat is energy. In physics heat is identified as a source of energy and can be observed only when it is transferring from a one place to another. All matter in the universe, is made up of molecules and atoms. These atoms are always in different types of motion and this motion of atoms and molecules creates heat or thermal energy. All matterRead MoreWater Carrying Concrete Core Essay946 Words à |à 4 Pagesactivated to store the thermal energy and discharge it when required. This process takes place on three phases ââ¬Å"chargingâ⬠, ââ¬Å"storageâ⬠and ââ¬Å"dischargingâ⬠. First charging, circulating cold or hot water through the embedded pipes in the slab, the slab will be charged with cooling or heating energy depending on the water temperature. There are different techniques to control charging by water flow rate and charging period. Second storage, during day time excess heat produced from build ing occupants and devicesRead MoreComponents Of Thermoregulation ( Tm ) Systems And The Latent Thermal Energy Storage ( Ltes ) Essay1375 Words à |à 6 PagesPhase change materials are widely used source of thermoregulation (TM) systems and in latent thermal energy storage (LTES). PCMs capability to absorb and release large latent heat during phase change transition processes provides a wide range of phase change temperatures for thermal management systems. The incorporation of PCMs can achieve the same or even better performances with a smaller volume. PCMs can meet the thermoregulation requirements of various applications. Currently, the low thermalRead MoreOptimization Of Energy Consumption By The Work Above1274 Words à |à 6 PagesI. Optimization of energy consumption By the work above, we found out two of the main factors that influence the power consumption. Then we will go further to explore the method to save energy of the phone. We did a survey on a number of papers and found several methods to achieve this goal. In Periodic Transfers in Mobile Applications: Network-wide Origin, Impact, and Optimization (2012) [A], the authors performed an investigation of periodic transfers which is an application traffic patternRead MoreHow Is Energy Transferred?1431 Words à |à 6 PagesHow is energy transferred? This question can be answered in many ways and forms, letââ¬â¢s elaborate.â⬠¨Energy in the dictionary meaning is, ââ¬Ëthe strength and vitality required for sustained physical or mental activityââ¬â¢. In my own view, energy is the most vital and unrecognized strength this world has. Energy can make anything move or perform certain movements or tasks, it can even be used to make non-living things move. That is called Kinetic Energy. Kinetic energy is energy that is stored and used byRead MoreHow Heat Is The Heat Source For Our World1513 Words à |à 7 Pages which serves as the main heat source for our world. It is from the sun that energy is transferred ââ¬Å"through space and through the earth s atmosphere to the earth s surfaceâ⬠(ââ¬Å"The Transfer of Heat Energyâ⬠, n.d.). When energy begins to warm our planetââ¬â¢s atmosphere and surface, some of that energy is considered to be heat energy. Specifically, there are three different methods in which our world uses to transfer heat into and throughout the atmosphere; these methods include conduction, convectionRead MoreClinical Interview.
